Pakistan Army offers regular commission through the PMA long course, which is offered twice a year, once in March and the second in October. The previous course was 154, which is also called the even course, and the next will be 155, scheduled in October, which is known as the odd course.

eligibility criteria for 155 PMA long course

To join the Pakistan army through a PMA long course, candidates are eligible to apply when they fulfill the conditions of nationality, gender, education, age, and physical standard.

Nationality

Candidates should have Pakistani nationality. Domiciles from Azad Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan are accepted. In the case of dual nationality, candidates must have surrendered other nationality at the time of selection.

Gender and marital status

Only male candidates can apply for the 155 PMA long course to join Pak army. Candidates must be unmarried; however, married candidates over 20 years of age already serving in the army are also eligible.

Age requirement and relaxation

The age limit for candidates applying after intermediate or its equivalent is 17-22 years. However, a relaxation of 3 months in both upper and lower age limits is acceptable.
For 2 years, graduates or those serving in PAF Personal or serving PIV should be 17-23 years with a relaxation of 3 months for upper and lower age limits
for 4-year graduation programs such as BS/ BBA/BPA/ BA (Hon) age limit is 17- 24 years. For serving army soldiers, the age should be 17-25 years
( Note: no age relaxation exists for the last 2 categories).

Physical and medical fitness

candidates must qualify for the standard of height, which is 5.4″ and weight according to BMI ( Basic Mass Index). to join the Pak army.

Education requirements for joining the Pakistan army

The basic education for cadets is inter; however, the requirements are changed for different courses.

For BMAS (bachelor of military arts and science), the minimum education is FA/ FSc or equivalent with a minimum of 55% marks.
For TCC ( technical cadet course), the required education is FSC pre-engineering or computer science (ICS) with a minimum of 65% marks.
For lady cadets (LC), 4 bachelor’s or 2 years master’s degree is required.

Relaxation in education

For special areas of Pakistan such as Balochistan, Kohistan, Naran and Kaghan, FATA, Gilgit Baltistan, Chitral, Neelum Valley, Dir, Tharparkar, Umerkot, Cholistan, District Ranjpor, Derawar Fort, Mojgarh and Salasar.
For army soldiers, the requirement is also 50%.
For A-level, the requirement is 60%. They are also required to submit an equivalence certificate from IBCC. Result awaiting candidates can also submit the hope certificate of FSc part-1st (duly attested by the head of the college).

Conditions of ineligibility for PMA long course

Rejected by ISSB in the previous two attempts.
Appeared in 2 consecutive ISSB tests with a gap of 120 days.
Candidates who are dismissed by any government service, including armed forces.
Cadidents who do not fulfill eligibility criteria or are proved unfit by ABM. Or a medically unfit
candidate withdrawn from any forces institution on disciplinary acts.

NOC for candidates who are already serving in government bodies.
Original domicile, original certificates, and DMCs, along with attested photocopies.

How to apply for the 155 PMA Long course

Registration can be completed online and offline to join Pak army.

Offline registration: it involves visiting nearby Army selection and recruitment centers (AS&RCs) along with the required documents.

Online registration: the subsequent steps are part of the online registration process for the 153 PMA long course.

Visit the Pakistan Army website, www.joinpakarmy.gov.pk, and click on the registration tab.
The 1st page requires your personal information such as your name, father’s name, CNIC/ FormB number, date of birth, exam center, parents’ occupation, postal information, religion, caste, contact number, email address, etc. Please fill out this form carefully; otherwise, your form will not be processed further.
Note: you will not be eligible if you apply more than 3 times in the initial test or for the 3rd time in the ISSB test.
Then comes your education details starting from matric or O levels, you have to provide information about your institute, passing year, group of study(science/arts), marks, and roll number.
The details of your intermediate education and so on. If you have any other degree or diploma you can also add them.
Once you fill out the form your registration process will be complete and you will be informed of the schedule of your next entrance exam in AS&RCs.

Initial testing and screening process for 155 PMA long course

This process is divided into 4 major categories after successfully evaluating which candidate can join the PMA long course. These categories are as follows

Written test for PMA long course to join Pak army

this is a computer-based test, so you must have basic computer knowledge.

The written test is further classified into 2 main sections, each of which checks the eligibility of the desired candidate It includes

intelligence test

Verbal
Non-verbal

Verbal test: it completes 65 questions in an allocated time of 30 minutes. The type of questions is compression, odd one out, number, and character series.

Non-verbal test: it has 65 questions done in 30 minutes. Questions are diagrams, shapes, and puzzle selection.

Academic test: it has 50 total MCQs solved in 25 minutes. Its content is from academic books, including math, physics, chemistry, English, pak studies, and general knowledge.

Medical test for PMA Long course

After completing the written test, candidates became eligible for medical tests to join the Pak army that takes place at AS&RCs. In this test, eyesight, ears, chest expansion, carry angle, flat feet, knocking knees, diabetes, blood pressure, height, and weight are checked. BMI is also calculated from height and weight.

Unfit candidates are referred to CMH.

Physical test for PMA long course

This test is taken on the ground. It checks the following parameters:

Running 1.6km in 8 min
Pull-ups 3 in 2 min
Sit-ups 20 i 2 min
Push-ups 15 in 2 min
Ditch -crossing

Interview for 155 PMA long course

After successful assessment in previous tests, candidates are now called for an interview by Army management through an ISSB call letter.

S&ROs and psychologists will take interviews.

In the 1st step of the interview, candidates will have to write 10 lines in English or Urdu on the provided topic of current affairs. The topic will be displayed on the whiteboard. After completion, it will be marked out of 20. To pass this test, you must secure more than 12 marks.

Guidelines for interview

Confident and able to express his views properly.
A very good command of English and Urdu language.
Aware of the current situation of the country.
Have enough knowledge of Pakistan studies and the geography of Pakistan.
It is necessary to have good extracurricular activities like sports and hobbies.

Final selection

The final selection is based on the performance of the cadidents and merit at General Headquarters (GHQ). Candidates will be notified of their selection by email and call after 5 days.
